Kaleidoscope: Wind Over Water — Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
Wind Over Water Studio explains here how the iOS app handles your creations, purchases, advertising, and privacy choices.
Privacy at a glance
- Your creations are made on your device. Our image and video export features do not upload them to our servers or advertising services.
- You choose whether to watch a rewarded ad. Advertising services may process data before playback, when permitted ads are requested or preloaded.
- Tracking permission is your choice. You can refuse Apple's tracking request and continue using the app. Refusing tracking alone does not disqualify you from rewarded ads; regional permissions and ad availability still apply.
- You can revisit your choices. Open the app's settings and select Privacy Choices for available regional options. Apple tracking permission is managed separately in iOS Settings.
- Apple handles Studio payments. We do not receive your payment-card details.
The details below explain what these choices cover and what they do not.
Your pictures, videos, and Photos permission
Images and video exports are created locally. Saving an export asks for permission to add it to Photos, not to browse your photo library. Recording does not use your microphone. App preferences and the local Studio unlock status are stored on your device.
My Collection stores your saved pattern combinations and frame information locally in the app. It does not provide an app-operated cloud sync service. Deleting the app may remove this collection; device backups depend on your Apple settings. Saving a pattern to My Collection is separate from exporting a picture or video to Photos.
If you share a creation, the destination you choose may receive it under that service's policy. iCloud Photos and device backups follow your Apple settings. You can manage Photos access in iOS Settings.
Studio purchases
Apple processes purchases and restores. The app uses transaction and entitlement results to provide your purchased features and keeps an unlock status on your device. We do not receive your payment-card details or intentionally send your Studio purchase records to advertising SDKs.
Apple keeps its own purchase records. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Rewarded ads and information used
The current iOS app uses Unity LevelPlay with ironSource/iSX for rewarded ads. It excludes Ad Quality and the separate Unity Ads SDK and adapter. Choosing to watch an ad is optional. Once the necessary privacy checks allow advertising, the app may initialize advertising services and preload an ad before you choose to watch it.
Information processed for advertising may include device identifiers, IP address, device and operating-system details, language, ad views and interactions, and performance or diagnostic information. An IP address can indicate an approximate location. Data associated with a device may be linked to that device or user; it is not necessarily anonymous.
These data support ad delivery and measurement, fraud prevention, frequency limits, and service operation. Unity and its advertising partners may receive information directly from your device. Depending on applicable law, some advertising disclosures may be treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Available regional choices are described below.
See Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy for its data practices, recipients, retention, international processing, and privacy rights.
Apple's tracking permission
Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission is separate from regional consent. Tracking requiring this permission must respect your choice. Declining it does not block normal creative use, Studio purchases, or restoration.
Unity has confirmed that our ironSource/iSX integration reads the system ATT status automatically. When tracking is denied or restricted, its bid request omits IDFA and signals the restriction. Unity states that IDFV may still be used for fraud prevention, frequency limits, and SKAdNetwork attribution, not cross-company tracking in that case.
You can change tracking permission in iOS Settings where available. Refusing tracking does not stop all processing needed for advertising or service operation, and it does not delete information already received by providers.
Regional privacy choices
Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) provides applicable regional privacy messages and records your choices. It communicates with Google using technical and consent-related information, including an IP address. We use UMP for privacy messaging, not as an additional AdMob ad source. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Where required, the app checks necessary permissions before starting advertising. If you refuse those permissions, rewarded ads may be unavailable; normal creative use, Studio purchases, and restoration remain available. Refusing Apple tracking and refusing regional permissions are different choices.
To review available regional consent or sale/sharing options, open the app's settings and select Privacy Choices. The options shown depend on the applicable region and message availability. Disable Ads stops new advertising requests from the app; Review Ad Choices lets you reconsider that local setting and return to the privacy checks. It does not automatically grant consent or tracking permission.
While the choice form is open, the app pauses new ad requests. If your choices change, it discards cached ads and applies the updated choices to subsequent requests. Withdrawal of necessary permission stops new requests. A currently playing ad may finish and still provide its earned reward.
These controls do not shut down every background operation of an already initialized SDK or erase previously collected information. For deletion of information already held by a provider, its privacy request process may also be needed.
Support messages, retention, and deletion
If you contact us, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you provide and use them to handle your request. Our email provider processes this correspondence. Please avoid sending passwords, payment-card details, or unnecessary sensitive information.
Local settings and exports follow your device's storage, backup, and deletion controls. Deleting the app does not necessarily remove saved Photos exports, backups, Apple's transaction records, support correspondence, or data held by providers.
Retention depends on the information, the reason it is needed, and applicable legal obligations. Providers describe their own practices in their policies. Contact us to ask about retaining or deleting support correspondence. Third-party services may process information outside your country; their policies describe processing locations and transfer safeguards.
Your rights and contact
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising.
Contact Wind Over Water Studio at fxsmchen@gmail.com to make a request, raise a concern, or appeal a response where that right applies. We may need information to verify a request. You may also have a right to complain to your data-protection authority. Parents or guardians with questions about a child's information can contact the same address.
Requests involving information independently held by Apple, Google, or Unity may also require contacting those providers. Changing an ad choice does not delete their existing records.
Policy changes and earlier test builds
This policy describes the current public iOS app. Earlier test builds may have different privacy controls or SDKs. Contact us if you need help identifying a test build or obtaining its privacy information. Updating this webpage does not update an installed app.
We will update this policy when relevant practices change and show the revision date above.
